R. Kent Goodin of Enon, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Soin Medical Center. Kent was born in Plymouth, IL on February 5, 1938 to Cyril and LaDessa (DuBois) Goodin who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Norma; son Brent (Kimbra) Goodin; grandchildren (Natasha and Garrett) of Huber Heights; daughter Michelle Reed; grandchildren (Alicia and Talia) of Rockford, IL; brothers Carol (Margie) Goodin of Plymouth, IL and Charles (Marina) Goodin of Lewisburg, TN; sisters Cheryl (Dan) Meigs of Wilmington, NC; Carmen (Mike) Chatterton of Gloucester, VA and Cindy (Terry) Ellis of Macomb, IL. Kent is also survived by several great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was a 1956 graduate of Plymouth High School. He proudly retired as a law enforcement sergeant with the Wright State University Police Department. The family truly appreciates the DaySpring Care Center and the Kettering Medical Network teams that cared for Kent during his prolonged illness and final passing. A memorial service will be planned in Spring of 2019 at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Illinois.
