WDTN: ‘So much growth going from film one to film two’: WSU alum speaks about 2nd feature

Nicole Reigel

Excerpt from WDTN

As “Dandelion” hits the streaming market, the lead architects behind the film’s visual style spoke to 2 NEWS about some of the rewards of the filming process.

“My entire crew team is now solidified,” says director/writer Nicole Riegel, reflecting upon the film’s initial release.

In “Dandelion,” we get a film that explores the struggles of an aspiring and passionate musician looking for recognition, appreciation, and to simply be heard and acknowledged for her play.

The movie premiered across the country on July 12, before also screening at the Neon from July 19-25. The opportunity to screen at the Neon is one that Riegel was ecstatic about given how the theater had been a place to watch movies during her college years.

“I used to go watch movies at the Neon all the time in college. That was a big place where I got really into cinema,” Riegel said.

Before earning a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from UCLA, Riegel graduated from Wright State University’s Motion Picture Program.
