Students will now be able to pursue pilot careers in the birthplace of aviation, at the university named after the Wright Brothers.
Wright State University has just announced a new degree program, aiming to address the critical pilot shortage across the nation. Various courses will be offered for students interested in aviation careers, from piloting and flight instruction to technical operations and management.
Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science and Technology, an Associate of Applied Science in Aviation Science and Technology or a Minor in Aviation Studies through WSU’s Department of Kinesiology and Health in the College of Health, Education and Human Services.
“Wright State is excited to build on our innovative roots and offer a comprehensive aviation degree program that gives our students the skills to pursue careers as pilots while supporting our region and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base,” said WSU President Sue Edwards.
Courses will be offered in partnership with First Flight Aviation, a flight school at the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport in Miamisburg. WSU initially partnered with First Flight in 2022 for elective flight training courses.
