Joseph Young, Ed. D., passed away Wednesday April 13, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. After serving two years in the United States Army, he earned a doctorate of education from Miami University, Oxford. He taught and coached at Mad River School for 14 years becoming Principal and Assistant Superintendent.
He was a professor for The University of Dayton for a year and a professor at Wright State University for 14 years, serving as the Assistant Dean the last three years. He retired from the College of Education and Human Services in 1988.
During his life he enjoyed sports, sailing, fishing and golfing with lifetime friends.
He is proceeded in death by his mother Mary, his Father Ray, his two brothers Jim and John and his sister Mary Ann. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 62 years Nancy, his 5 sons Chris, Dan, Tom (Pam), Joel, Andy (Cindy), his brothers Ray (Dianne) and David (MaryAnn), his sisters Phyllis, Rosalie (Bill) and Pamela, his 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A Memorial is scheduled for Saturday April 23, at Ascension Church, 2025 Woodman Drive in Kettering.
