Webex Video Conferencing
For use in Academic Advising and Career Services
- Prepare by reviewing Webex Video Conferencing. Please note, several options exist for connecting to a Webex meeting.
- If you do not have a computer with a microphone, a computer and phone can be used to talk with your advisor using the Join by Phone number listed in the email invitation.
- You do not need a computer with a camera to participate in the session.
- Laptops with microphones and cameras may be checked-out and used in 122 SC during business hours. A phone and ear buds will be necessary.
- Pay attention to your email for communication from your advisor with a link to join your appointment session
- Open email and click the Join Meeting button.
- You will be prompted to download and install the Cisco Webex Meeting app.
- If the meeting has started, a green icon will appear next to Join Meeting. If it has not started, it will indicate Meeting Not Started.
- You may be prompted to enter your name and email.
- Click green Start or Join and you will be connected to the meeting.

How to prepare for your online appointment
- Identify the computer you will use. A hard-wired (Ethernet) connection is recommended, but WiFi will work.
- If you do not have a computer with a microphone, a computer and phone can be used to talk with your peer leader using the Join by Phone number listed in the email invitation.
- You do not need a computer with a camera to participate in the session.
- Laptops with microphones and cameras may be checked-out and used in 122 SC during business hours. A phone and ear buds will be necessary.
- Get the Chrome web browser, if needed. Using an up-to-date internet browser will help your session connection.
- Prepare by watching the Join A Teams Meeting or reviewing the Getting Started Guide.
- Pay attention to your email for communication from your tutor with a link to your appointment session.
