With the recent arrival of winter, Environmental Health and Safety would like to offer some seasonal safety tips.
- Dress in layers
- Wear an appropriate winter coat, hat, and gloves
- Wear appropriate footwear when traveling
- Flat rubber soled shoes with traction are ideal
- Remember flooring can be slick even when a wet floor sign is not present
- During inclement weather remember to give yourself extra time to make it to your destinations
- Give yourself extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you when driving
- Always clear your vehicle's windows of frost, ice, or snow
- Don't forget your head lights and tail lights
- Make sure your emergency kit is properly stocked
- A collapsible shovel is better than salt for clearing the path for your tires
- If you fall on campus please complete an Accident/Injury/Illness/Near-Miss Form (PDF)
- Submit to Environmental Health and Safety Biological Sciences II Room 047
