The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness (IR&E) assists Wright State University in achieving its mission through the collection, analysis, and distribution of information. IR&E works with data from internal areas and sources, including information related to students, programs, and facilities. Additionally, data from external areas and sources, such as national surveys, is also used to provide an assessment of Wright State that is as comprehensive and complete as possible.
IR&E provides official reporting on behalf of Wright State. Official reports and datasets generated by IR&E are used for federal compliance reporting, state reporting, and internal analytics.

Mission
The mission of IR&E is to provide official, accurate, and unbiased information and analysis about the university in support of institutional planning, decision-making, and reporting obligations.
Guiding Principles
IR&E strives to conduct work in accordance with the principles outlined by the Association for Institutional Research and adheres to strict interpretation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in regard to the privacy of student data.
