Jesús Carachure Jacobo

What are your hobbies, and how are you involved on campus?
¡Hola! I am a person who is attracted to the arts, but mostly music! I love listening to new genres and artists, as well as playing instruments. I spend my time involved through volunteering at events for the Latino Center or the Amigos Latinos Student Association. I work here at Wright State University as an Involvement Mentor and a Student Ambassador for the university.
Describe your personality.
I am an energetic person that can keep pushing through regardless of challenges. I use emotions as a basis to understand people too and try to connect with them or try to provide for anyone that may need it. I love meeting new, bright personalities, and I like to grow my network!
What are you passionate about?
More than anything, I am passionate about my people and music. Those motivators have allowed me to cross the finish line even when I was on the edge of giving up. Believing in the strength of my nationality and my heritage gives me energy to do what is challenging. I am passionate about helping those who share a story like mine, but I also try to help those who come from another world than I do. Arts is the way to make peace and harmony through critical thought and mutual understanding. Arts create empathy.
What are you looking forward to most in mentoring new students?
I aim for emotional stability and self-realization for others. Coming to college can be a scary experience when overthinking it or underpreparing. My mission is to help others to stay focused and stay in the center of balance. I want to drop all self-doubt and fear that may keep success away from a student. I look forward to leaving an impact and creating energy that goes beyond meetings and classes and turns into involvement with other students here at campus. Furthermore, I cannot wait to learn from you and support you in your developing journey here at Wright State University.
