Wright State Online (WSO) is a team of creative professionals that collaborate with faculty to enrich their courses with quality course design and accessibility principles in mind. With specialties including digital accessibility, compliance, course design, graphic design, and video support, WSO is here to offer personalized help for online or in-person classes.



What We Offer

Consultation

  • Instructional Design Consultation
    • Guidance in creating effective, engaging, and student-centered course content in line with standards as outlined by Quality Matters, ADA, etc.
    • Advice on the faculty’s pilot shell layout to make easy-to-navigate and aesthetically appealing courses. Includes support in correctly attributing sources and copyright compliance for including material by third parties in a course.
  • Digital Accessibility Support
    • Ensure your course is accessible to all users by implementing best practices and compliance with accessibility standards, namely WCAG and ADA
  • Graphic Design Enhancement
    • Direction on graphic design standards and best practices, including color theory, typography, graphics, imagery, layout, and accessibility considerations
  • Video Production Support
    • Technical support on recording and editing video and audio as well as advice for improving quality of lecture recordings

Evaluation

  • Quality Matters Course Evaluation
    • A complete review of the faculty’s course to ensure alignment with learning objectives as outlined, accessible navigation and layout, and engagement as well as compliance with copyright and attribution standards.
  • Digital Accessibility Evaluation
    • A complete review of a course’s digital assets (pilot shell, documents, images, videos, activities) to check for alignment with accessibility standards as outlined by WCAG and ADA.

WSO’s personalized course support is a consultation service. WSO does not generate nor make changes to existing materials owned by the faculty. All implementation and content creation, including closed captioning and other accessibility accommodations, are the faculty's responsibility.
