Confidentiality

The Title IX Coordinator will seek to protect the privacy of the individuals involved in any report of alleged sexual misconduct, relationship violence, and harassment or discrimination related to sex (including gender non-conformity) to the extent possible and allowed by law. The Title IX Coordinator cannot guarantee confidentiality, however, and must evaluate any request for confidentiality in the context of the University’s responsibility to provide safe and nondiscriminatory environment. The following resources and support services offer confidential support for anyone involved with a Title IX incident:

Every victim-survivor is entitled to receive support whether or not they ultimately decide to report. If you are not sure if you want to formally report the incident to the Title IX Coordinator, you are encouraged to connect with one of the confidential resources. Confidential resources can:

  • Help you understand, explore and connect with the formal reporting options, should you choose to
  • Connect you with campus and local resources to receive any support you may need
  • With your permission, advocate and request services on your behalf
