At least 500 vehicles were in the Nutter Center parking lot at the Wright State University campus in Fairborn today for a mass food relief distribution effort in Greene County.
Organizers planned for 1,600 vehicles.
In addition to the lines of vehicles in the lot, several roads leading to the Nutter Center were clogged with traffic that was attempting to reach the site.
The Ohio National Guard had 30 members on site to help distribute the food.
The Foodbank is holding a mass food distribution today in Wright State University’s Nutter Center parking lot to help those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Food distribution is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, but people were asked to not start lining up until 9 a.m. The Foodbank said that every vehicle in line by noon will be served.
Long lines of vehicles were backed up on Colonel Glenn Highway as the food distribution was getting ready to start.
