Performance Evaluation Training
Training Schedule
This year, Wright State University will not be offering in-person training sessions for the annual performance evaluation process. However, there are several resources for supervisors and employees who would find additional training and/or guidance helpful.
Resources
- Guidebook for the Wright State University Performance Evaluation Process (PDF) (includes information about all forms including the Alternative Performance Evaluation Form)
- One-on-one guidance from your HR Business Partner
Full participation in this vital process is essential to our success. It is important for each of us to take time to reflect where we have been, both individually and as an institution, and decide where we want to go in the future.
Training Videos
Wright State University has four online video training sessions to assist employees and supervisors with the annual performance evaluation process. These videos were last updated in April 2016 and reference the previous university strategic plan. However, the forms and their content are essentially the same.
A good place to start is with the Performance Evaluation Process Overview video as it provides information about how the performance evaluation process ties to the university’s mission and values as well as provides suggestions on what employees and supervisors can do to increase the effectiveness of the process.
Then, to learn more about the two different forms used in the process, you can watch the Distinctions Between the Forms video and then the videos specifically designed for the forms used in this process: the Self-Appraisal Form video or the Formal Performance Evaluation Form video. Each of these videos discusses what the expectations are for the form fields as well as the conversation that is intended to result from each element that is included in the form.
