Instructor Station Computer Change
CaTS will be replacing existing classroom Mac Minis with Windows-based Dell 5050s. This plan has been vetted through various college computing committees, the Faculty Senate IT Committee, and Faculty Senate.
There will no longer be an option to use Mac OS from the instructor workstation unless using one of the alternatives listed at https://www.wright.edu/information-technology/services/summer-2018-class....
More information regarding this transition is available at https://www.wright.edu/information-technology/services/summer-2018-class....

Windows 10 Migration
As announced on July 12, CaTS will begin the migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10. All existing computer labs and registrar-scheduled classroom instructor workstations will be upgraded before the Fall 2018 Semester.
Windows 10 is the latest operating system released by Microsoft and features cosmetic differences from Windows 7. This transition is necessary due to Microsoft's planned end of support of Windows 7 in January 2020.
All registrar-scheduled electronic classrooms will now run Windows 10.
Classroom Training
To schedule a training session for the new instructor computers, or any classroom equipment, contact cats-training@wright.edu; a CaTS training representative will contact you shortly to arrange a session in your Fall Semester classroom.
All classrooms & computer labs will be unlocked beginning August 20, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00 pm, if you wish to test the new equipment. If you would like access to a classroom or computer lab during normal business hours before August 20, please contact the CaTS Help Desk to request access.
With an anticipated increase in the number of classroom-related calls during the first two weeks of the semester, CaTS strongly encourages faculty to become familiar with the new instructor computers prior to the beginning of Fall Semester.
